Lacrosse has arrived at SPIRE. From July 26th – 28th, the Method 18 3-day experience brought some of the top rising 7th, 8th and 9th-grade to Geneva. The young laxers honed their skills to help them make the move from competitive club teams to the modern, fast-past high school game. Renowned coaches from around the country led the camp, which included development skills sessions, strength and conditioning seminars, performance testing, competitive drills and film sessions.

SPIRE Head Coach JD Harkey and Lacrosse Ambassador and Consultant Kyle Harrison, creator and director of Team Eighteen, partnered to form the inaugural camp held at the athletic academy’s sprawling campus in the Greater Cleveland area. The duo’s goal was to help players elevate their potential and keep an eye on rising talent.

Coach Harkey raved about the success of the camp. “Our first iteration of Method 18 was a rousing success! The combination of great coaches and players from across the nation produced a unique blend of competition and camaraderie. Feedback from families was overwhelmingly positive. In fact, we are adding an additional day to next year’s camp schedule per the request of attendees. And, of course, everyone involved was in awe of our tremendous facilities and the team at SPIRE.”

The first day’s activities focused exclusively on skill work, small-sided games and performance testing. Method 18 staff then drafted and created grade-level teams to compete for the remainder of camp. At the conclusion, all-star rosters were released for players from each grade level. Also, parents had the exclusive opportunity for an hour-long Q&A with coaches regarding admissions, academics and everything that SPIRE has to offer.
