SPIRE Academy’s soccer team, SPIRE FC, is heading to the 2023 US Youth Soccer National Championships. The competition is being held from July 17-23 in Orlando, Florida.

Technical Director and Head Coach Sean Lane reflects on the team’s journey so far, highlighting how a group of initially unfamiliar boys came together and showcased their exceptional skill and determination. The team fully embraced SPIRE’s style of play, prioritizing hard work, team bonding and strong work ethic. “They’ve gone from a disparate bunch to finalists at the Nationals in Orlando in July.”

Coach Lane also praised SPIRE FC Director of Coaching Mike McLaughlin for his consistent messaging and focus on teamwork, despite their different coaching styles. The upcoming National Championship poses an exciting challenge for the players, who will face the country’s best teams. Coach Lane is eager to see his athletes confront the pressure and succeed in spite of it. SPIRE Academy’s presence in the National Championship represents the culmination of hard work, teamwork, and dedication, underscoring the strength of the soccer program and effective coaching.
