SPIRE Academy Launches Women’s Wrestling Program

09/22/2023

SPIRE Academy recently launched its Women’s Wrestling Program, emphasizing a focus on high-school sports diversity and empowerment. Leading this initiative is Mike Kulczycki, Director of Wrestling and Head Coach at SPIRE Academy.

Kulczycki passionately described the program, stating “SPIRE Women’s wrestling will be centered around a facility and philosophy that hasn’t been done before. The women’s wrestling program will be tailor-made to each and every individual…From their diet structure to [their] workout routine…We want to allow them to be their own individual as well as having the fundamental skills that every wrestler should have.”

The women’s wrestling program will primarily focus on providing these athletes with a headstart into the world of freestyle yearly competition, which is key for women wrestling at the collegiate level. They will also benefit from the extensive knowledge and resources available at the SPIRE Performance Center for recovery and training.

SPIRE proudly welcomes its first three female wrestlers, Alexia Beadle from Youngstown, OH, Fiona Goughfrom Wayne, NJ and Joelle Scott from Cranesville, PA. All three athletes possess an unwavering motivation and dedication to their sport.

Demonstrating the school’s commitment to developing talent, individuality and excellence in sports, SPIRE’s women’s wrestling program is furthering this dedication to empowering all athletes to reach their full potential.
